                                                                                  NOTICE OF RACE

Lake Norman Yacht Club, Mooresville, NC and Highlander Fleet 27 invite you to the annual Highlander Midwinters. The event will be held at on Lake Norman as part of the Lake Norman Yacht Club around the buoys club racing series. Camping is available at LNYC and the gates will be opened Friday before the event

Rules-The event will be governed by the rules as defined by The Racing Rules Of Sailing.

Eligibility-All competitors sailing Highlanders

Schedule of Events:
                Friday April 24th:
                         Club open for early arrivals
                Saturday April 25th
                          0930 Registration and check in
                          1100 Sailors Meeting
                          1300 Warning Signal Race 1 with Race 2 and 3 back to back
                          1600 CLUB DINNER available only by reservation before April 22nd
                 Sunday April 26th
                           0930 Warning Signal Race 4 and race 5 back to back

Registration: The registration fee will be $15.00 payable at registration please let us know you are coming by email to radsail@aol.com. Dinner available only by reservation before April 22nd .

Sailing Instructions will be the LNYC around the Buoy Sailing Instructions with an addendum. The Sailing Instructions and the Notice of Race will be available at registration and will be posted on the Official Bulletin Board at the LNYC Race Management Center.

Number of races: 5 races are scheduled however the race committee will use their discretion based on conditions, no races will be started after 1130 on Sunday

Courses are described in the LNYC Sailing Instructions-most likely windward-leeward courses will be used

Scoring-Scoring will be according to the Appendix A Low Point System, all races will be scored

Safety: Each boat is responsible for the safety of its crew, should a boat retire from the event the Race Committee should be advised as soon as possible-Race Committee monitors channel 71

Prizes-Awards will be given to the top three boats and the first place crew.
